Activating during the 2023 US Open Golf tournament, American express sought to solidfy its commanding presence within the golfing landscape. Throughout the open, American express proved that Golf is better with Amex through multiple use touchpoints including, course radio, multiple fan experience zones through the course, capped off with a centerpiece Cardmember Lounge located alongside the 3rd hole fairway.

An updated take on the clubhouse, the Cardmember Lounge brings the brightness and clean lines incorporating both the natural landscape of California with touches of an urban aesthetic. Offering sweeping views of several holes, the lounge contained 2 full service, custom bars, relaxed seating areas for cardmembers to rest their feet, custom merch designed in collaboration with Metalwood Studios and player appearances from Tony Finau.

Further touchpoints include large scale topographic green wall photo moments, a chance to mint a custom digital token granting access to merch discounts and Amex’s signature Father’s Day postcards.
